Brave Resistance warriors – the hour is upon us.

This communiqué is being sent out to all cells within the Sydney Resistance, as a call to arms.

Intelligence reports over the last few months have shown that The Corporation is experiencing a crisis of leadership. By striking now, The Resistance has a chance to end the rule of The Corporation once and for all, and reclaim our great city.

But before we may dream of that future, we must first look to the past and remember how we came to be here.

Many years ago, the people of this planet lived in peace and prosperity. But as is always the case with mankind, we wanted more. Desire created consumerism, consumerism created industry – and industry poisoned our world.

The signs were there, but they were ignored until it became too late. By the year 2030, global warming had accelerated out of control, and droughts had ravaged the land. Water began to disappear, and people became scared. Despite Government assurances, they feared for their survival – and the Great Water Riots began.

By 2031, Sydney was out of control. In desperation, the Australian Government called in a mysterious military contractor called The Corporation. A private army made up of ex-special forces personnel, The Corporation used brute strength and terror tactics to quell the city's criminal elements.

In 2033, law and order was restored - but The Corporation refused to hand back the reigns of power. They continued their iron rule, imposing an oppressive regime on the citizens of Sydney.

The people, however, did not bow down so easily. Within a few years, Resistance cells had begun to spring up, dedicated to overthrowing their dictators.

That time has now come. History will remember 2050 as the year The Resistance's finest ultimately defeated the evil Corporation, and took back the city.

Fight bravely my loyal troops. Today decides who will stand and who will fall. Today decides who will ultimately control this great city.
